What a privilege it is to have Iwona Podlasińska be our feature photographer for this month’s issue of Bokeh. Iwona is a children’s photographer from Poland. While photography is still something she does on the side, her photos are well recognized and have been seen around the world. You can find her giving popular workshops for those interested in learning how she does what she does.

You’ve heard people say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, Sujata Setia, a world-renowned newborn, children and family photographer, takes this phrase to heart. She’s able to capture the essence of a picture and let it speak narratives that are relatable to her clients.

Boudoir photography is not an easy genre to work in. Clients are often in their most vulnerable state, and yet are asked to open themselves up in front of a camera. It takes a special kind of photographer to be able to inspire confidence and elicit raw and real emotions. Stacey Ingram is a natural at what she does. Read how she got into the business and what her process is.

Tiffany Hopwood’s faith has been an integral part of her life and passion for photography. Over the years, God’s providence has blessed her business. See what golden tidbits you can learn from her experiences. You’ll find Tiffany available for engagement/wedding assignments both stateside and abroad.

Photography is a great medium for those that want to express their creativity through their imaginations. I love how Jamila Clarke gets herself inspired to create surreal and magical works of art with her camera.

If you’re thinking of getting into the newborn photography genre then you’re in luck. We’re privileged to have Jade Read, an accomplished maternity and newborn photographer based on the Gold Coast of Australia, share her insights on how to get started.

We have the honor of having ShaRelle Gutierrez as the feature photographer in this month’s issue of Bokeh. As owner and photographer of ShaRelle Studios Photography, which is located in Shreveport, Louisiana, ShaRelle has done a remarkable job of establishing herself as a premier place to go for boudoir photography.

You will love reading the interview with Meagan O’Neal. Her piece is insightful in so many ways. From her ability to connect to women to her business acumen, I’m sure you’ll find something to glean from. Meagan is an extremely talented photographer and you’ll see that in her work. Her studio is found in Atlanta, Georgia

When Max Aria first moved to Los Angeles, California he worked as a model and actor. However, it was his skills with the camera that got him noticed. Read how Max’s career as a photographer started and see how he’s expanded from doing headshots to weddings and fashion.

You’ll sell yourself short when you frequently compare yourself with others. Heather Esposito quickly picked this up. She’s learned to be brave with her work, and this has helped her grow her skills and business. Find her talents in Endicott, New York.

Last year Chris Winton-Stahle had an amazing opportunity to work on assignment in Tibet. While there, he was inspired by the conversations he had with the locals. The experiences changed his perspective on many things in life. ‘Her Journey’ is a personal project that touches on some of the self-reflective themes he’s meditated on since coming back.

Our friend Alex Munoz gives us an exclusive first look on the Priolite ULTRA. It’s one of his favorite strobes and he’s going to tell you why. Check it out!

Our feature photographer for this month is Chandra Goodman of Chandra Delite Photography. What a remarkable person she is. Life hardships are inevitable and it’s easy to get discouraged from them. Chandra has used her faith to become a stronger and better person. This belief and positive attitude has carried over to her work and it shows. Her photos are full of love and beauty.

I love wedding photography. These photos often seem magical to me. Maybe it’s because there’s a heightened aura of love in the air. Brealyn Watson is a talented photographer who’s able to capture these special moments. She easily connects to people and is able to tell their stories through her photos.

Ambition and passion. You’ll find these two traits in Lili Sweet. She’s a great newborn and maternity photographer and an amazing person who’s full of love. Read her story and be inspired by the message she gives.

Daniel Laan is an amazing landscape photographer. Just take a look at some of the magnificent photos in his piece. You’ll feel like you’ve been swept away to a different and surreal world with each image you see. Absolutely stunning. Check out more of his work on his website. You’ll find a great selection of fine art prints that you can order for yourself.

Being a professional photographer isn’t just about taking good photos. There’s also the business side of things. Self-promotion and marketing are equally, if not, more important than the art itself. You can’t have a business without customers. Chris Winton-Stahle shares some ways you can increase your visibility with prospective clients.

Point-and-shoot cameras aren’t all that bad. Sian Elizabeth helps remind us of this. On a recent trip to Santorini she was able to make good use of hers. It gave Sian freedom and allowed her to more fully experience the vacation she was on.

This month’s featured photographer is Allison Gipson. She can be found on the beautiful island of Hawaii. Allison has a background in photojournalism. Read how she transitioned from working at the newspaper to starting her own photography business. It’s quite an interesting story.

Kellie Bieser is the owner and photographer for Shutter & Glass Photography. I love the many golden nuggets she’s shared with us in her piece. The mindset she has for photography is something we could all incorporate into our lives. It’s awesome to read how happy she is and how much fun she has with photography and her clients.

Having your own photography business is a dream for many. There will be prosperous times, but also lots of hardships. The key is to relentlessly pursue the dream and to keep the passion aflame. Be inspired by Kate Densmore and learn from her experiences with the ups and downs of the business.

Photography is a subjective art. Not everyone is going to like what you do. Will you be able to move past a scathing critic’s opinions and continue with the work that you love? Katrina Tait shows us that a never give up attitude and a great support system are what has allowed her to find success and joy in photography.

I’m sure all of us have at some point in time thought about traveling to an exotic location. What a dream that would be for a photographer. Sian Robertson recounts a trip to the Falkland Islands and how she fell in love with the wildlife and landscapes there.

It’s easy to betray our loves when things are tough. Our passion for photography is no exception. Chris Winton-Stahle provides us some insight on how to nurture our unique artistic vision and how to balance the fear of failure with the need to be to be ourselves when pursing professional growth.
